In Memory of Margaret E. Scott

July 28, 1928 - March 8, 2024

Margaret Scott passed away on March 8, 2024.

She was born in Osceola, WI on July 28, 1928 and moved to northern Minnesota in 1932. She graduated from Blackduck High School in 1946 and found the love of her life, John, and married him on her birthday in 1947. They settled on the Scott farm and had their six children while living there.

On her 30th birthday in 1958, which she said was the happiest day of her life, the family moved to Aurora where John had been working and traveling home on days off for 4 years. While her children were growing up, she worked at Charlie’s Shoe Shop and the White Community Hospital.

Margaret was one of the most friendly, genuine people. She was able to connect with people everywhere she went. After John’s retirement, they spent many winters in Mesa, AZ where they gathered many friends.

When they no longer went to Arizona, she volunteered at the nursing home, visiting patients, caring for their plants and delivering meals on wheels. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she was involved in Ladies Guild, on the kitchen crew, and collecting Swadling Clothes.

After John passed away in 2007, she resumed wintering in Mesa. There she thrived on her own enjoying kitchen band, water aerobics, card clubs and dancing. She enjoyed many extended visits from family. As she slowed down, she continued to build friendships at Scandia Shores in Shoreview and Lawson Manor in Luck. After a major fall, she spent her last days in her daughter’s home in Luck surrounded by her family with the support of St. Croix Hospice.

In passing she joins her husband, John Scott; Parents, Gladys & Herman Gross; and Siblings: Russel Gross, Norman Gross, Mary Lou Peterson, Peggy Gross, & Donna Gross.

She is leaving behind Siblings: Betty Schwegel, Larry (Peggy) Gross, Roy (Connie) Gross, Judy Reich, Jane (Tom) Frenzel, Willie Gross, and Leo Gross (Michelle Hanson); In laws: Alan & Shirley Scott, Louise Gross and Billy Jean Gross.
