In Memory of Marcella Warner

June 30, 1938 - March 16, 2020

Marcella (Marcy) Anna Warner, 81, of Clayton, WI passed away March 16, 2020 at Mayo Health Care-Eau Claire.  She was born June 30, 1938 in rural Appleton, MN to Aloys and Irene (Floreck) Filla.

Marcy married the love of her life, John Paul Warner, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Forest Lake, MN on May 25, 1963. Through their union, 4 children were born.  Marcy's two great passions in life were her faith and her family.  She taught religious education at St. Ann's Church for many years where she was also a longtime member of the Council of Catholic Women.  Marcy never missed a school function of her children and grandchildren as long as she was physically capable of attending.  She loved old-time country and western music and, as many of her generation, was thrifty and never wanted to be a bother to anyone.

She is survived by her daughters: Cheryl (Walt) Friday of Clayton, Rita Warner of Almena and Milissa (Dan) Stanley of Turtle Lake; seven grandchildren: Alicia (Mark) Groth, Nathan (LeAnn) Warner, Holly (Bryan) Bearheart, Andrew Warner, Cassaundra Stanley, Colleen Stanley, Victoria Stein; six great-grandchildren: Lily Groth, John Groth, Liam Bearheart, Addison Warner, Ella Bearheart, Nolan Warner; Sisters: Virginia Peters, Lillian Warner, Helen Filla, Florann Singer; Brother Jacob Filla; many nieces, nephews and friends. Marcy was preceded in death by her husband John Paul Warner; her son, John Joseph Warner; her parents Aloys and Irene Filla; and 2 sisters: Angeline Kannisto and Susan Filla.

Due to the ongoing health crisis, a private funeral service for family members will be held on Saturday March 21, 2020 at 11am with a private family visitation at 10:15am at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Turtle Lake with Father Tom Thompson officiating. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery. Pallbearers are Alicia Groth, Nathan Warner, Holly Bearheart, Andrew Warner, Cassaundra Stanley, and Colleen Stanley. Honorary Pallbearers are Walt Friday, Dan Stanley, Mark Groth, LeAnn Warner, Lily Groth, John-John Groth, Liam Bearheart, Addison Warner, Ella Bearheart, Nolan Warner, Tom Warner, Isaiah Filla, Dan Kannisto, Bryan Bearheart, and Helen Filla.

A celebration of life gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date.  Cards of sympathy may be sent to Skinner Funeral Home 1245 1st St., Cumberland, WI 54829.
