In Memory of Lucille M. Gargulak


April 21, 1938 - March 9, 2024

Lucille “Lu” Marie Gargulak Age 85, of Rice Lake, WI, died March 9, 2024 in Alabama.

She was born on April 21, 1938 in Rice Lake to Orval and Emma (Driver) Kringle. Lu graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1956 and then attended college at UW Eau Claire. She was married to William “Bill” Gargulak on August 17, 1957 in Dobie, WI. Lu and Bill dairy farmed in the Town of Stanfold, Rice Lake, WI for many years and she also worked for Shopko for 11 years. She was a 4-H Leader for Friendly Farmers for many years. Lu loved to volunteer for many different charities and organizations, especially Dove HealthCare, St. Joseph Catholic Church and Hungry Hollow Steam and Gas Engine Club. Lu was beloved, thoughtful and very faithful by sending out cards for anyone that she met for their birthdays and Christmas cards that were hand written in her beautiful penmanship. These cards meant a lot to her and the people that received them. She will be greatly missed by her family and anyone that she met.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William “Bill” Gargulak; 3 children, Michael (Laurie) Gargulak, Mary (Mark) Bravo and Mark (Michelle) Gargulak; 5 grandchildren, Caitlin (Mike), Allison (Lucas), Katie (Zach), Olivia and Matthew; a step granddaughter, Aliece (Chris); 2 great grandchildren, Amelia and Bria; a future great grandson arriving in June; 3 step great grandchildren, Cora, Evan and Grant; a sister, Dolly Papke; a sister-in-law, Joyce Kringle; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Marie Gargulak; her parents, Orval and Emma Kringle; a brother, Don Kringle; and a brother-in-law, Dale Papke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, Father Isaiah Schick officiating, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 10AM-Noon prior to the funeral service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
