Lorraine Elsie Barrett, age 93, of Spooner and formerly of Trego, was granted eternal peace on June 9, 2018 at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner.

Lorraine was born September 17, 1924 to John and Johannah (Peterson) Keller in Fergus Falls, MN.  The family moved to Trego when Lorraine was young.  After graduating from Spooner High School, she worked in Chicago for a short time before returning to Trego.  She was united in marriage to Patrick F. Barrett of Trego on September 17, 1943 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Shell Lake, WI.  The couple farmed in Trego until Pat’s retirement.  Pat and Lorraine were blessed with daughters Kaye Neuenfeldt (Tim Hass) of Augusta, WI, Susan (Robert) Stephens of Eau Claire, WI and Lisa Barrett (Harold James) of Phoenix, AZ and sons Dean (Nancy) Barrett of Trego and Robert (Kathleen) Barrett also of Trego. 

Lorraine was a beloved member of St Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Spooner.  She was granted the Pax Christie award for her life of service to the church, community and her family.  She also served in Trego as an election official, recorder for the Trego Royal Neighbors camp, treasurer of St Joseph’s Altar Society, member of Servants of Mary and St Francis CCW.

Lorraine is survived by her five children, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her church family at St Francis de Sales and her many friends at Maple Ridge Care Center. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Patrick, an infant son, son-in-law Bruce Neuenfeldt, sister LaDon Mortenson, and brothers Donald, Willis and Adam Keller. 

Lorraine’s memorial service will be held at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Spooner on Saturday, June 16, at 11:00 AM  with visitation 1 hour before the funeral at the church.  Interment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery in Trego.   A time of gathering will be held following the service in the church basement.
