In Memory of Lori Peper-Rucks

October 9, 1955 - November 17, 2020

On Tuesday, November 17th, 2020, Lori Jean Janikowski Peper-Rucks, 65, of Luck, WI went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Lori was born October 9th, 1955, at North Memorial Hospital. She was the second of four children born to DeLoure and Barbara Janikowski. She grew up in Champlin, MN and cherished the time she was able to spend at her Grandmother’s cabin as well as the Jepsen Farm, both in Fox Creek, WI.

From her youth she had a great love for animals and the outdoors. She turned this love into the career that defined her life. In the early 80’s, she started her business, “Sunshine Kennels” (named after her German Shepherd, Sunshine). Over the years she groomed, bred, boarded, and trained dogs. While she also worked with horses, her primary love was for dogs. Inscriptions from her high school yearbook showed the path that lie ahead of her. Several passages said, “Good luck with the dogs, Lori!” and “We know you’ll do great as you work with dogs.”

Over the years she began working to train dogs as Police K-9s, she worked with the Polk County Search and Rescue Team, she also trained service dogs and would routinely participate in fundraisers to help off-set costs. She also bred and raised German Shepherds, Cocker Spaniels and Labrador Retrievers. The Shepherds and Labs proved to be not only great working dogs, but also beloved family pets.

Lori also had a deep faith, which she passed along to her family and shared with many people over the years. She was a long-time attendee of the Alliance Church of the Valley in St. Croix Falls and cherished the many friendships she developed over the years.

In her later years, she was able to spend more time with her grandchildren, Isaiah and Hannah, who brought her a lot of joy, as did all of her grandchildren.

She leaves to mourn, her sons, Jeffrey (Heather), Shane (Christina) and Jared (Becca); grandchildren, Jenna, Grant, Isaiah, Hannah and Noah. She also leaves her siblings, Jonanne “Joy” (Don), Mike (Diane) and Janice

She is preceded in death by her parents, DeLoure and Barbara Janikowski.

Private family services will be held due to COVID-19.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rowe Funeral Home.
