In Memory of Lorene J. Humpal


Lorene J. Humpal, age 88, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, January 9th, 2024 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, WI.

Lorene was born in July of 1936. In 1954 Lorene married Richard Humpal who passed away on December 9th, 2014. Together they made their home in Clayton, Wisconsin and raised their two sons, Lonnie and Ronnie. Lonnie passed away on August 28th, 2018. Lorene played a very important supportive role in the family throughout her life, first as a wife and mother of 2 and then later keeping the company books for her husband’s construction company.

Lorene was also gifted with a talent for music and became very involved at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in Edmonds, Washington. Where she played the organ for Sunday services and directed the choir for many years. She was also a member of Sweet Adelines barbershop harmony choir, where they would put on many shows for the public and the choirs would compete against each other for awards.

In her spare time Lorene enjoyed spending time with her family planning vacations (fishing, camping and sightseeing). She loved to garden, growing Roses, Dahlias and taking care of the family vegetable garden, then canning the harvest for the family to enjoy throughout the year.
She is survived by her son: Ronnie Humpal; Many relatives and friends.

Lorene was loved and will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Moe Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, WI. Officiating will be Rev. Margaret Grant with burial to follow at Moe Lutheran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m.
