In Memory of Loren G. Huset


October 31, 1937 - January 3, 2024

Loren G. Huset, age 86, of Barron, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

He was born on October 31, 1937 to Lloyd and Gladys (Ellefson) Huset in Barron, Wisconsin. He graduated from Barron High School in 1955.

On July 30, 1954, he married Geraldine Curtis in Lindstrom, Minnesota. Gerry passed away in January of 1994. He later married Beverlee Turgeson on November 10, 2001 in Barron.

Loren hauled canned milk for Loren Huset Hauling and later drove semi for Federated Co-op for 36 years retiring in 2001.

He enjoyed following the Little Country Cousins, later becoming the R-Country Gals. Loren would spend a lot of time at the Flying Eagle Resort in Iron River, Wisconsin. He and Bev would also 4-wheel when they were there. He also enjoyed helping his son-in-law, Arvid with field work, especially combining. Loren was a member of First Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Beverlee Huset of Barron; daughters, Roxane (Darryl) Kahl of Barron, Ronda (Dave) Simonson of Iron River, Rita Herrman of Barron, Ramona Huset of Rice Lake and Roslyn (Paul) Hauck of Barron; step-son, Chad (Sara) Dennis of Wausau; step-daughter, Gina (Albert) Byers of Shakopee, Minnesota; grandchildren, Jerrad (Angie) Kahl, Drew Kahl, Brandon (Jolene) Thalacker, Bronson (Hannah) Thalacker, Brooke (Dave) Nehring, Jessica (Alyssa Krueger) Herrman, Jamie (Bob) Edwards, Ross Peters, Ranessa (Anthony) Weigand, Randel (Joshua) Wachsmuth, Reisa (David) Hilbert, Raelene (Mike) Hoff, Racquel (Romaine) Quinn, Ralicia (Johnny) Hilbert, Rayna Hauck, Joseph Hauck, Jesse Hauck, Alyssa Byers, Andrea Byers, Adam Byers, William Dennis, Elizabeth Dennis, James Dennis, Crystal (David) Dubois and DJ Simonson; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Loren was preceded by his parents, Lloyd and Gladys Huset; first wife, Gerry and son-in-law, Arvid Herrman.

A memorial service for Loren will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Barron. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning. Burial will be at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
