In Memory of Lonnie Matye
It is with great sadness that the family of Lonnie Dwayne Matye announce his passing.
Lonnie grew up in Arland, WI, and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1971. He worked for many years as a tuck pointer before retiring from the Bricklayers Union.
Lonnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking large meals and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and helping family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Elsie, brothers Mike and John, and son-in-law Chad Dibble.
He is survived by his wife Pam, children Dwayne, Dena, Jackie (Keith Davidson), Kelly (Keith Kahl), and Jenni (Steve Phillipson), grandchildren Cordel, Dylan, Carter, Trent, Elliot, Emmit, Peyton (Arianna), and Taylor (Shawn Townsend), great grandchildren Prudence and Bear, brother Tom (Debbie) and sister Liz (Dave Poulter), aunt Linda, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
There will be a family picnic at Shadyside Park in Almena on Saturday, October 16th from noon to 3:00 p.m. to celebrate his life.
Even though he didn’t get to say it one last time, we’ll always remember to try to “have fun, be careful, and learn something” each day. Love ya, love ya, love ya.
