Lois Luella Sheldon Age 95 of Rice Lake, WI died Monday April 22, 2019 at Woodstone Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 17, 1924 in Rice Lake to Peter “Nels” and Louise (Hyllested) Nelson on the family farm. Lois graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1941. She worked at a bakery and also as a telephone operator before marrying Donald Sheldon in January 1947 and they were married for 35 years before his passing. Lois was actively involved in 4H, homemakers and her church. She enjoyed traveling to see her children, was proud to say she never moved away from Barron County and had a strong faith in God.

She is survived by 7 children, Mike (Paula) Sheldon of Coon Valley, WI, Pat (Jan) Sheldon of Iowa City, Iowa, Kathi Martin of Lakeville, MN, Karen (Terry) Millsap of Algona, WA, Doreen (Craig) Cathers of Bloomington, MN, Jeff (Barb) Sheldon of Mahtomedi, MN and Melodie (Mike) Gallo of Birchwood, WI; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sheldon; her parents, Peter “Nels” and Louise Nelson; a grandson, Patrick Sheldon; 8 sisters and brothers, Marie, Clifford, Gladys, Harris, Vivian, Raymond, Louis and Rose.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday, April 26, 2019 at the World Harvest Church in Rice Lake, with Rev. Arvid Moen and Rev. Bob Pittman officiating, with interment in the Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Thursday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Friday. The family would like to thank Lakeview Medical Center Hospice, Inclusa and Woodstone Assisted Living staff for their loving care.
