In Memory of Leslie Miller
Leslie M. Miller (Les) 69 of Hayward, passed away on April 22, 2019 at his home on Moose Lake.
Les was born on May 24, 1949 in Chicago, the son of Ascher & Loretta Miller. Les graduated from Brother Rice High School in Chicago in 1967. He went on to finish college at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater with a degree in English. Les worked for the Chicago Water Reclamation District deep tunnel project as an engineer for over 30 years. Les retired in 2001 and built his dream house on Moose Lake. Les loved to fish, play pool, and meet his good friends at one of the local watering holes on Moose Lake. Les was very generous and always kind and helped his fellow neighbors with whatever they needed. Les loved Mark Twain and had his whole collection of books and tapes. One of his favorite quotes from Mark Twain was “Education: that which reveals to the wise, and conceals from the stupid, the vast limits of their knowledge”.
Les is survived by his sister, Marilyn “Snook” (Dave) Sanders, of Hayward; his brother, Ed Filetti of Coatsville, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of friends and family will be held later this summer on Moose Lake.
