In Memory of LeRoy Jay Fye
October 25, 1923 - June 24, 2017
LeRoy Fye, age 93, a resident of Spooner, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 24, 2017.
LeRoy was born on October 25, 1923, in Trego, Wisconsin to parents Henry and Lila (Thompson) Fye. On August 26, 1947, he was united in marriage to Inez Larson in Barronett, Wisconsin. After their marriage, the couple lived in Kenosha and Superior for a short time before moving to Spooner in 1959 where they owned and operated the Deer Court Motel up until his death. LeRoy being a God-fearing man, was a lifelong member of the United Pentecostal Church, and spent time studying the Bible. LeRoy also spent much of his time in the woods as a pulp cutter to earn extra money for his family.
LeRoy is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Inez, children: Deanna (Timothy) George of San Jose, CA, Jeanette (Joseph) Kozak of Stanley, WI, Cynthia (John) Houghton of Rhinelander, WI, Julie (Cheow Yeo) Fye of San Jose, CA, Ronald (Brenda) Fye of Ellsworth, WI, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 4 great- great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his brother and 2 sisters.
A memorial service for LeRoy will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017, at noon, at the United Pentecostal Church in Spooner.
