In Memory of LeRoy D. Pearson
December 2, 1930 - October 30, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family of LeRoy Dean Pearson (Whitey) announces his passing after a long illness, on Monday, October 30, 2017, at the age of 86 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Beverly and his daughters, Pam, Nancy and Becky (Mike). He will also be remembered by his grandsons, Gabe (Michelle) and Josh, and his 3 great granddaughters, Natalie, Grace and Nori, and sister, Della Mae Fulkerson.
Born December 2, 1930. LeRoy grew up in Grasston, MN. After High School he joined the Navy and served from August 2, 1948 to July 17, 1952. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. Upon his return, he met and married Beverly Birnstengel. He started his career with AT&T, which lasted 30 years. They had settled in Bloomington, MN., raising their 3 daughters.
He was an active member in the “early years” of the Bloomington Civic Theater, and also a member of the Normandale Hylands United Methodist Church. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and travel. After he retired from the phone company he served in Tonga with the Peace Corp. He finally settled outside of Spooner, WI, where he was able to live out his final years.
He loved to travel, saw all different sites around the world, and experienced a life that many would envy. He will be missed.
LeRoy is proceeded by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
