In Memory of Leonard H. Lindemer

December 26, 1948 - January 19, 2023

Leonard Hubert “Bud” Lindemer, age 74, of Prairie Farm, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Barron, surrounded by his family.

Bud was born on December 26, 1948, to Hubert and Agnes (Christenson) Lindemer in Prairie Farm WI.

He attended and graduated from Prairie Farm High School in 1967. Shortly after graduation, Bud was drafted and served in Vietnam. During this time, he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. On April 19, 1975, Bud married Vicki Wiesner in Prairie Farm. From this marriage came three children; Amy, Nikki and Cody and three grandchildren; Bailee, Zannic and Korbin. The Lindemer family is often together whether it is ATV rides, Friday night fish fry, family vacations, or Sunday dinner. They are always making memories together that we will cherish and help us in this very difficult time. Bud was a beloved husband and father and the best “Grandpa Buddy” to a family that we will forever miss and lovingly remember him. He farmed several years at his family farm in Prairie Farm and worked several other jobs over the years. In the early 1980’s, Bud started driving school bus for the school district of Prairie Farm, a job he loved for over 30 years. Over his life living in Prairie Farm, he served his beloved community in numerous ways. He was a Fire Fighter/First Responder for the Prairie Farm/Sheridan Fire Department where he also served many years as the Fire Chief. Even after “retiring” from Fire Fighting you would often see him on scene assisting in any way he could. He was also a member and Commander of the Holum-Waite American Legion Post #259 in Prairie Farm, a member of the Prairie Farm Lions Club and the Prairie Farm/Ridgeland ATV club. He spent his retirement years enjoying time taking Friday afternoon ATV rides (any rides really) with friends and family, daily card games in town, Tuesday pool with his brother and friends and tending to his birds, with Vicki very often by his side.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents: Hubert and Agnes, beloved guardians: Gary and Arlene Guldvog, his sister: Sherry Whalen, father and mother in-law: John and Marjorie Wiesner, brother in-law: Barry Whalen and nephews: Brandon and Eric.

He is survived by his wife: Vicki, his three children: Amy, Nikki and Cody, forever cherished and remembered by his three grandchildren: Bailee, Zannic and Korbin, siblings: Shelby (Theresa) Lindemer, Delores (Tim) Kelly and Julie Lindemer and their families, special family: Jolene (Dan) Meyer and family, and Jack Guldvog, brothers and sisters in-law: Mike (Maureen) Wiesner, Marc (Diana) Wiesner, Brenda Wiesner, and Linda (Tim) Ambrose and their families, as well as many other extended family, relatives and dear friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24 at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm with Rev. Sara Feld officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, both at the church. Interment will be at a later date at Vanceburg Cemetery in the Town of Sheridan, rural Prairie Farm. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
