In Memory of Leona M. Ingbretson

April 8, 1922 - July 27, 2022

It is with great sadness that we, her children, announce that our mother, Leona Marie Ingbretson, born on April 8, 1922, passed away as a centenarian being age 100+ on May 27, 2022 at the Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, Florida of natural causes.

Leona is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Mary Rogers of Cable, Wisconsin. She is also preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Clarence Hans Ingbretson, known as Bud, in 1992 at Springbrook, Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Westphal of Springbrook, Wisconsin and her brother, Frederick Rogers of Denver, Colorado, and daughter-in-law, Paulette Ingbretson, wife of son, Rodney Ingbretson.

Leona is survived by her three children, daughter, RaeMarie (Uno) Lund of Jacksonville, Florida, her son, Conrad (Esther) Ingbretson of Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, and her son, Rodney Ingbretson of Springbrook, Wisconsin. Leona also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Kristie (Darryl) Dayton, Harmony (Matt) Pace, Julia Madsen, and Justin (Ruth) Ingbretson, Leona was a great grandmother to Tyler (Christina) Dayton, Hailey (Chase) Cook, and Ava Rutzinski.  Happily, Leona was the great great grandmother to Dakota Dayton, Eleanor Dayton, and Grayson Dayton. Also surviving are three siblings, a brother, George Rogers, sister, Barbara Johnson, and sister, Francis (Ron) Haugan.

Leona was born in Centuria, Wisconsin and later moved with her parents to Cable, Wisconsin where she resided until her marriage to her husband, Bud Ingbretson. They then moved to Springbrook, Wisconsin where they made their home. Leona was the epitome of a homemaker, always baking, sewing, gardening, canning, and devotedly caring for her children. Leona was by nature a curious and questioning person, searching for the answers to life’s big questions. Her search for truth led her into a deep study of the Bible. This culminated in her decision to become baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on 11/12/1955. From this time on, she never waivered from her convictions. Leona and Bud gave priority to raising their children by Bible principles believing this would lead them to a happy Way of life. Right up to her death, all said and done, Leona was exemplary in constantly studying the Bible, reading, busy in the ministry even handwriting letters to strangers in her area about her beliefs. In addition, Leona continued to write letters to old friends and kept up with her family by means of FaceTime and her smart phone. Leona was dearly loved by her family and friends that she made in Montana, Wisconsin, and Florida. We look forward to her resurrection on earth where we will be united again.

A graveside service at the Anah Cemetery, Spooner, Wisconsin, Crystal Township on August 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m officiated Alan Waterman.
