In Memory of Lawrence Thompson
Lawrence Christ Thompson, 89, of Cumberland passed away on October 17, 2020, at the Cumberland Care and Rehabilitation. He was born August 4, 1931, in Cumberland to Christ and Ida (Grimson) Thompson. He married Donna Mae Nieman on October 1, 1955, and had six children.
A life long resident of the area, he worked at 3M for 33 years prior to retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was also an enthusiastic bike rider and dog lover.
Lawrence is survived by his four daughters: Cherry (Mickey) Bekela of Wellington, CO., Pam Thompson of Cumberland, Christine (Kirk Jerry) Thompson of Rice Lake and Nancy (Mark Fogelberg) Thompson of Cumberland; two sons Larry (Wanda) Thompson of Cumberland and Jeffrey (Margie) Thompson of Barron; 17 grandchildren: Angie Gonzales, Donnie Albee, Jessica Haley, Derrick Haley, Natasha Busch, Kristin Johnson, Miranda Paulson, Patrick Green, Austin Keller, Jenna Mehalek, Cassandra Mehalek, Matthew Thompson, Brian Thompson, Stacia Thompson, Brooke Thompson, Eric Thompson and Alex Thompson and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christ and Ida, wife, Donna, brother, Norman Thompson, grandson Kyle, and great-grandson Watson.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 11 AM at the Timberland Free Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service and burial to follow at the Lakeside Cemetery in Cumberland.
