Kirk David Kotel Age 67, of Birchwood, WI, died Friday, May 19, 2023 in Rochester, MN.

He was born on May 13, 1956 to Steve and Kathleen (McDermott) Kotel in Oak Park, Illinois.

He graduated from York Community High school in Elmhurst, Illinois and then began a career as a handyman working various jobs in the Elmhurst area. In 1976 he moved to Cape Neddick, Maine to be with his parents and again worked as a handyman at various jobs. In 1997 he moved to Birchwood, Wisconsin where he worked at various jobs until he became disabled. He enjoyed spending time with family, having coffee with friends and being involved with his church.

Kirk is survived by, a brother Steven Kotel of Rice Lake, WI, a sister Vicki Russell of Elmhurst, IL, a sister Karen Lord of Saco, ME, a sister Elissa Kotel of Bristol, WI, and many nieces and nephews.

Kirk is preceded in life by his parents and one brother.

A family celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting the family with the arrangements.
