In Memory of Kimberly L. Rich

January 2, 1969 - June 2, 2023

Kimberly L. (Doane) Rich Age 54, of Barron, WI, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 with her loving husband by her side after a short battle of a rare form of ovarian cancer.

She was born on January 2, 1969 and was the New Years baby that year in Stoughton, WI and was the proud baby girl to Bruce and Joanne (Effinger) Doane.

She was raised in Stoughton and graduated in 1987 from Stoughton High School. Kim had many jobs and life experiences until she found her true calling of being a dog groomer. She took an apprenticeship at a local vet and learned the dog grooming trade. After many years of working for other dog grooming she gained her skills and clientele. Kim took a leap of faith and started her own dog grooming and boarding business - Kim’s Pampered Pets in her home. Kim always continued to take a yearly class in Chicago to keep her education up to date. Kim enjoyed her flower beds, going bowling, going to movies, watching the Packers and going to the casino even though she seldom won. She had a huge teddy bear collection that filled her spare bedroom. But the things that meant the most to her were her 3 spaniel dogs. She would have loved someday to have a rescue so she could spread her love to even more animals in need. Kim loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Nathan Rich; a stepson, Dawson (Kimberly) Rich; a sweet granddaughter, Rosalie Rich; her brother, Todd (Lisa) Doane; former sister-in-law, Mary Doane; nephews, Andrew Doane; nieces, Amber O’Connell and Nicole Doane; a great nephew, Carter Kirby; a special friend of 30 plus years, Gloria Peltola.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Joanne Doane.

A celebration of her life will be held from 4-7PM Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake with a prayer service to begin at 7PM. Kim would like to thank the wonderful nurses in the Oncology Department at Marshfield Clinic for their upbeat and positive attitudes and for caring for their patients like family.

In lieu of flowers, Kim asks to send donations to the Community Cat Rescue and Adoption Center or Ovarian Cancer Research.
