In Memory of Keith R. Lee

October 16, 1959 - November 22, 2024

Keith R. Lee, age 65, of Spooner, WI, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024, at his home after courageously fighting brain cancer for 5 years.

Keith Robert Lee was born October 16, 1959, in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Oscar and Arla (Fude) Lee. Keith was raised in Oshkosh and in high school played football and worked as a security guard.

After graduating from high school, Keith continued his education at Fox Valley Technical School where he earned an associate’s degree in Police Science. Keith began a career as a correctional officer and over the years he worked at Green Bay Correctional Facility, Wisconsin Resource Center and Oshkosh Correctional Center. On October 10, 1987, Keith was joined in marriage to Kim M. Gestwicki in Oshkosh. Keith and Kim settled in Winneconne, WI, where they raised their three children. Being active in his children’s lives was very important to Keith. He was a scout leader, sport cheerleader, music event audience member, and everything in between. He enjoyed deer hunting, camping with the children, vacationing, caring for his many pets and watching the Green Bay Packers. He will be remembered by his family for his upbeat attitude no matter the situation, his genuine ability to joke around with anyone and an evergreen and jovial sassiness.

Keith is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kim; three children, Rachel (Nick) Merkt of Spooner, WI, Jacob Lee of St. Louis Park, MN, and Andrew (Amanda) Lee of Omaha, NE; three grandchildren, Wilder, Hawkins and Shepherd; his mother, Arla of Oshkosh; one sister, Susan (Claude) Collins of Oshkosh; three brothers, Larry (Devron) Lee of Oshkosh, Russell (Debbie) Lee of Omro, WI, BS Kevin (Kraig) Lee of La Crosse, WI; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at First United Methodist Church, 700 W Linwood Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54901 from 1-4 pm on Saturday, December 21st.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the National Brain Tumor Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or your local animal shelter.

Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Omro, WI, at a later date to be announced.
