Keith was the oldest of 3 children born to Lawrence and Rosemond (Nelson) Lindquist in Hayward, WI. He graduated from Hayward High School in 1950. After serving in the United States Army during the Korean war he came back to Hayward and married Margaret Long in 1955.

Keith attended Wisconsin State College Superior where he earned his Bachelor of Science in High School Training in 1960. He went on to earn his Master of Arts degree from Stanford University on full scholarship in 1966, an accomplishment he was extremely proud of. Keith taught High School Mathematics in Cameron, WI from 1960-1962.  In 1962 he accepted a position at Cumberland High School where he taught a variety of subjects including Algebra, Elementary Analysis, Calculus, Choir, Photography and Introductory Computer retiring 34 years later in 1996. He took a couple years off and then took a position with UW Barron County as an Associate Lecturer in Mathematics from 1998-2009.

Keith and Margaret raised their 5 children in Cumberland. Keith was very involved in the community. He purchased the Isle Theatre in 1975 and owned it for more than a decade. He was a talented singer and sang at many weddings and funerals over the years. He directed the Cumberland Community Choir and dabbled in musical theater at the Red Barn Theater and ETC. He served 4 terms on the Cumberland City Council from 1990-1998. He was a member of the Hospital Board from 1990-2010. He was a season ticket holder for the Minnesota Opera for many years sharing that passion with his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church as a cantor, choir director and lay minister. As a member of the Knights of Columbus he could be found cooking hot pepper sandwiches every year at the Rutabaga Festival. His recovery journey from Alcoholism started in 1984, he was very active in AA and wrote an anonymous article “Sober Thoughts” by Hal published in the Cumberland Advocate for many years.

Keith is survived by his wife, Margaret of Rice Lake, 3 sons, Peter (Kathi) Lindquist of Cumberland, Tom (Laura) Lindquist of Cumberland, John (Laura) Lindquist of Pardeeville, WI, 2 daughters, Mary Lindquist of Cumberland, Kathleen (Rob) Duncan of Cumberland, 10 grandchildren; Kevin (Katie) Lindquist, Bryce (Ginger-Grace) Lindquist, Jessica Lindquist, Joshua Lindquist, Adam (Alexandria) Lindquist, Kaela Lindquist, Carrie Lindquist, Sarah (Dave) Einck, Jaeden Parker and Elizabeth (Nathan) Froehlich, 9 great grandchildren; Mila Lindquist, Liam Lindquist, Maeve Lindquist, Alex Barker, Morgan Einck, Hadley Einck, Porter Einck, Colette Einck and Gianna Froehlich, 1 brother, Lawrence (Dorothy) Lindquist of Eau Claire, WI,  1 sister, Kristin (Roxy) Oneto of Raymond, WA, Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews as well as many other relatives and friends.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Rosemond Lindquist, grandson, Tony Ficocello and great granddaughters, Julia and Sophia Barker.

The family will be having a private mass and burial.
