Keith Harvey Carlson Age 81, of Rice Lake, WI, died Thursday, November 7, 2024 in Marshfield, WI.

He was born on April 1, 1943 in Rockford, Illinois to Burdette and Gladys (Nelson) Carlson. Keith graduated from Rockford High School in 1961 and also graduated from Bethel College with a degree in Science in St. Paul, MN in 1965. Keith began his teaching career as a high school science teacher, became a computer programmer and also taught evening classes at a vocational school.

He was married to Betty Eagan in 1966 and she preceded him in death in 1997 and he later married Gail Sonderman Smith on May 1, 1999 in St. Paul, MN.

He loved fishing, camping, traveling, being outdoors, creating and building things and repairing projects.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Carlson; 3 children, Debbie (Scott) Jamison, Christy (Phil) Krause and Tim (Jen) Carlson; 2 stepchildren, Carrie Smith and Rachael (Chad) Maaske; 19 grandchildren; a great grandchild soon to be born; a sister, Joyce Hultman; a sister-in-law, Char Carlson; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burdette and Gladys Carlson; his first wife, Betty Carlson; a brother, Brad Carlson.

A private family service will be held. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
