In Memory of Kay Kallman
Kay Sharon Muehlhauser Kallman, 77, of Grantsburg passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019.
Kay was born May 18, 1941 in Grantsburg, WI to the late Verona and Lester Muehlhauser. She was one of nine children, two of whom have preceded her in death.
Kay graduated from Grantsburg High School in 1959. Kay married David Kallman in July 1961. Together they raised three children. Kay held a variety of jobs through out her life including a long-time position with Burnett County as a dispatcher/jailer for the Sheriff’s department, from which she retired in 1997. After retirement she tried her hand with small wood working projects selling them at craft fairs around the state. Kay enjoyed travelling around the country with her late mother-in-law Anne Kallman and taking trips with David on the back of his Harley. Kay embraced any opportunity to spend time with friends and family.
Kay will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Kay is survived by her husband of 57 years David; daughter Roxanne; son Jeff and his wife Kim; son Dan and his wife Julianne; six grandchildren Becky, Nikki, Corbin, Mitch, Grace and Zac; four great-grandchildren Chloe, Robert, Ayden and Akyer; as well as six sisters and brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Kay's wishes, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MPN Research Foundation in support of Myelofibrosis research.
