In Memory of Kathryn Ault
Kathryn Helen Ault, 67, of Cumberland passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021 at her home in the company of her loving family.
She was born July 11, 1953 in Plainfield, NJ, to Robert and Margaret (Rickman) MacFarlane.
After graduating from Westfield High School, Kathryn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount Scenario College in Ladysmith, WI, then earned her Juris Doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, MN. She served as the Registrar at Mount Scenario college for several years, and it was this career that led to a chance meeting with the man she would spend the best years of her life with, Barry Ault. After a long courtship, they married at The Rectory in Cumberland on November 29, 1996. Kathryn established her legal practice out of their home in Cumberland shortly after graduating law school and passing the Wisconsin Bar Exam, and she served 26 years as the Cumberland Municipal Judge and as a private attorney.
She is survived by her husband, Barry Ault of Cumberland; children: Colin Eugene (Kati) DeLong of Minneapolis, MN and their children, Ellen and Ewan, Trevor Martin (Kelly) Delong of Franklin, TN, and their son, Benson, Kendra Allison Delong of Cumberland and her children, Maxwell and Matthew, and Jack Henry Pierce Ault of LaCrosse; her brother, Robert (Linda) MacFarlane of Houston, TX; her sister, Peggy (Peter) Leimpeter of Discovery Bay, CA; sister-in-law, Leslie Flynn MacFarlane; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Kathryn was preceded in death by her brother, John MacFarlane.
A Private Celebration of Kathryn's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, April 16, 2021 and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
