Katherine Louise Roseboom, 87, of Birchwood died Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Woodstone Assisted Living. She was born December 28, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN, to Harold and Mildred (Roush) Clemens and was raised in Lebanon, IN. During her youth, Katie spent time riding horse, watching her brothers play basketball and bringing home many lost dogs.

Katie married the love of her life, Ralph Roseboom on August 15, 1948 and they raised three beautiful daughters in the Long Lake area of Birchwood. After Ralph left farming to pursue a career with a pipeline company, Katie took care of the beef cattle, mowed the lawn, grew a large vegetable garden and canned the produce, all while raising and supporting her three independent daughters in their many adventures.  She filled her life with the love of horses and dogs. She took great pride in her picturesque farm from the white painted fence to ensuring no thistle lasted in the pasture. Katie and Ralph also raised a few registered quarter horses and many hounds over the years with which they hunted coon.  After retirement, they moved off the farm and built a beautiful home that they surrounded with hundreds of hand planted trees. Katie was admired  and loved by all who knew her. She had a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed, but has been joyfully reunited with the love of her life in God's presence.   

She is survived by: 3 daughters:  Kathy (Michael Ross) Wergin, Sherman Oaks, CA, Susan (Greg) Paulus, Rice Lake, Laura (Tim) Crotteau, Rice Lake; 4 grandsons: Joe (Bonnie) Swan, Jason (Krista) Paulus, Andy (Maria) Paulus, and Matthew Crotteau; 6 great grandsons:  Dustyn Paulus, Zachary Paulus, Cody Swan, Travis Swan, Jared Swan, and Drew Paulus; 2 great granddaughters:  Karmen Paulus and Shauna Swan; her sister, Patti (Jim) Shaw; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Katie was preceded by her husband, Ralph Roseboom; granddaughter, Katie Swan; grandson, Jim Paulus; brothers: Jack and Butch; and sister, Becky.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 with the funeral service held at 11:00 at Long Lake Lutheran Church with Pastor Mary Storm officiating and burial to follow in Long Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joe Swan, Jason Paulus, Andy Paulus, Matthew Crotteau, Dustyn Paulus, Zachary Paulus.
