Katherine Richardson, age 61, a resident of Spooner, died on Monday, December 31, 2018, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Katherine was born on May 30, 1957, in Ukiah, California to parents Lewey and Bertha (Wenberg) Pederson.  She attended and graduated Laytonville High School the Class of 1975 in Laytonville, California.  After graduating, she moved to Wisconsin and worked in Rice Lake at McCain Foods and later at the Turkey Store in Barron. On August 12, 1978, she was united in marriage to Bobby Richardson in Richardson, Wisconsin.  In 1995, she went back to school and attended WITC in Rice Lake and received her Associates Degree in Accounting in 1997.  After graduating, she began working in the Accounting Department at the Turtle Lake Casino.  She would later take a transfer to work at the St. Croix Tribal Office in Hertel in their Accounting Department.  In 2006, she moved to Spooner where she currently resided.  In 2009, she once furthered her education by enrolling in Globe University’s Accounting program and would received her Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 2012. She was best known for a positive attitude, loving her family & friends with all her heart, and always putting others first.

Katherine is survived by her children: Jeana Richardson of Oak Grove, LA, Amanda (Steven) Snyder of Luck, Wisconsin, Brent (Amber) Richardson of Amery, WI, grandchildren: Blade, Brooklynn, Leyna, Raelynn, sister Carol (Joe) Franzen of Comstock, WI, sister in law Mary Pederson of Racine, WI, father in law Dennis Devens of Spooner, and several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Katherine is preceded in death by her husband Bobby, her parents, and brothers Robert and Curtis.

A gathering of friends and family for Katherine Richardson will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the Spooner Funeral Home from 10 -1pm.  Interment will take place at a later date at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
