Katherine Helen "Bee" Gannon, 72, of Cumberland passed away peacefully at her home in the company of her loving family on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. She was born January 29, 1948 in St. Paul, MN to Robert and Elizabeth Lauer, was raised in St. Paul and graduated from Our Lady of Peace High School, class of 1966. Kathy worked for one year at Northwest Airlines as a flight attendant. She earned a nursing degree from St. Mary’s in Minneapolis, then worked as an RN for the St. Cloud VA Hospital and Abbott Northwestern Hospital in the Psychiatry Department. She met the love of her life, Gary Gannon, and they were married in St. Cloud, MN on October 16, 1971. They were blessed with two beautiful children, and later moved to Cumberland, where Kathy became involved with the children’s school in a number of volunteer capacities in addition to caring for her family and home. Kathy was an avid reader, gardener and prolific walker.

She is survived by Gary, loving husband of 48 years; children Robert Gannon of New Braunfels, TX and Dr. Erin (Aaron) Lehmann of Cumberland; grandchildren Miles and Charlie Lehmann; sister, Christina (Edward) Malloy; brother, William (Jeanine) Lauer; sister’s-in-law: Michaela Lauer of St. Paul, MN, Patricia Gannon of Minneapolis, MN, Leslie (Bob) Viren of Sheridan, WY, Nancy (Joe) Boyd of Lafayette, CO; nieces and nephews: Dr. Anne (Dr. Jason) Wolff, Sean Malloy, Ben, Joe and Kaitlyn Lauer, Sarah, Jessica (Becky) Lauer, Emily (Ben) Herding, Nicholas (Mandy) Lauer, Jenny Lauer, Joe, Ted, and Trisha Larson, Kirk and Bradley Viren, and other relatives. Preceded in death by parents Robert M. and Elizabeth J. Lauer; and siblings Robert A. Lauer, Nicholas C. Lauer, and Mary E.
Lauer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Cumberland with Father Tom Thompson officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Robert Gannon, William Lauer, Ben Lauer, Joe Lauer, Edward Malloy, Sean Malloy, Nicholas Lauer, Joe Larson, Ted Larson and Aaron Lehmann. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, February 28 at the Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland and for 1 hour prior to the Mass.
