In Memory of Karen Lloyd

February 22, 1966 - November 16, 2021

Karen Martina Lloyd - loving mother and grandmother, devoted wife, adoring daughter and caring sister, passed away at the age of 55 in the company of loved ones on November 16, 2021 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Madison.

She was born February 22, 1966 in Shell Lake, WI to Ernest and Renata (Tanz) Cathers and graduated from Shell Lake High School.

She was married by Pastor Dan Boone in Granbury, TX on November 9, 1987 to Ira Lloyd, using number 9 of 10 from a limited edition version of the King James Bible, published exclusively for President Ronald Reagan. Karen was talented with a needle and thread and won awards for her cross-stitching. She was an amazing homemaker - skilled in canning, cooking, and baking, but her greatest contribution was filling her home with love.

Karen was a Christian, and her faith informed every aspect of her life. She (through the Holy Spirit) brought many people, including her husband, to the Lord. She taught Sunday School for many years, and touched the lives of many children along the way. She loved Christian music of all sorts from Southern Gospel to Contemporary Christian Worship.

Karen leaves countless memories with her husband, Ira; 4 children: John Lloyd of Cameron, Anthony (Ingrid) Iverson-Lloyd of Wausau, Renae (Patrick) Slaughter of Fitchburg, and Emily Kay Lloyd of Shell Lake; granddaughter: Liara Bean Lloyd, Astrid Bee Iverson-Lloyd; her parents, Ernie and Renata Cathers; her brother, Hans Cathers of Hayes, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Skinner Funeral Home-Shell Lake with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor John Sahlstrom. Burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday.
