Karen Annette Hobscheid, 77, of Sarona died Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Indianhead Medical Center.

She was born October 11, 1944 in Aurora, IL to Haskell and Mabel (Linsenmeyer) Patterson.

She was raised in Aurora and married Peter Hobscheid. They were married for 44 years before he passed away in 2008. After they were married they moved to the Stone Lake area of Wisconsin and operated a resort for a few years. Then they moved on to new adventures together including moving to Montana where they both fell in love with the landscape and hoped one day to make it back. When they returned to Wisconsin Karen began working at the Trego Travel Center in the early 2000's and retired in 2017.

She is survived by 3 children: Bryon Hobscheid of Chicago, IL, Lori (Gary) of Oviedo, Florida and Matthew (Sondra) Hobscheid of Sarona; grandchildren: Jack, Carter, Taylor, Bryon, Jr., Lily, Jasper, Wyatt, and Matilda; her brothers, Gary (Kathy) Patterson of Monico, WI and Harry (Kathy) Patterson of Oak Park, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her husband Peter; her parents; siblings: Larry and Frieda.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Skinner Funeral Home - Shell Lake with Pastor Ken Mandley officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Luncheon to follow service at Butternut Hills Golf Course in Sarona.
