In Memory of Karen Bjornson


October 2, 1946 - October 28, 2021

Karen G. Bjornson, 75, of Centuria, WI died peacefully October 28, 2021 at the United Pioneer Home in Luck, WI with her family and husband by her side.

Karen was the purest of souls. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren unconditionally. She loved to travel with her husband and her love of golf was unmatched. She enjoyed playing pranks unexpectedly with her grandchildren and loved to have fun with them. She was deeply devoted to her faith and family, they were always the center of her life.

Karen was born on October 2, 1946 in Hallock, MN to Byron and Mavis (Lesperance) Dorion. She grew up in a small rural town of Pembina, ND with her 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She graduated from Pembina High and went on to college in Minot, ND.

Karen was united in marriage to Donald Bjornson in Minot, ND on September 11, 1965. They spent 56 years of wedded bliss raising their three children and watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. They had made many wonderful memories together traveling in their RV and wintering in North Fort Meyers, FL.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Mavis Dorion and her sister, Merryl Irving.

Karen is survived by her husband, Donald Bjornson; children, Douglas (Christie) Bjornson, Wendy (Robert) Linke, Darin (Tania) Bjornson; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and was additionally blessed with 3 bonus grandchildren and 5 bonus great grandchildren; her siblings, Richard (Marlene) Dorion, Teresa (Edward) McCune, Denis (Shelly) Dorion, Ellen Lundgren, Mavis (Rick) Shine; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake, WI at 11:00 a.m. with a lunch to follow. Visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to the Celebration of Life.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rowe Funeral Home in Luck and the Northwest Wisconsin Cremation Center in Milltown.
