June Carol was born May 31, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred & Edith (Knudson) Pedersen.  June moved from Chicago to Cable, WI in 1947. There she attended grade & high school in Cable and graduated in 1953.  She attended Superior State College from 1953-1957, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kindergarten-Primary Education.  June began teaching in Hibbing, MN and worked there from 1957 until 1959. On June 27, 1959, June married Delbert Jerome in Cable, WI and taught for two years in Hermantown, MN. She and Del moved to Hayward in 1961 and taught at LCO and in Hayward until 1964.  June gave birth to son Charles “Chuck” A. Jerome on September 17, 1964 and commenced substitute teaching in Hayward and Ashland, WI.  She moved to Ashland for one year in 1964 where Del was employed as a teacher and worked in their system as a teacher and substitute also. June and Del then moved to Drummond in May 1965 and substituted for one year, except for a short maternity leave where she had son Mark Jerome, born on December 15, 1967.  June was offered and accepted a teaching position in the Drummond school system which she held until her retirement in 1999.  During this time, June became one of the first female members of the Drummond Fire & Rescue. She also attained a specialist reading license in 1989 and amassed a total of 42 years of teaching.  June and Del lived on Pigeon Lake until moving to their present home a mile west where June enjoyed her many years of retirement, idolizing her marriage and family while helping her husband operate their family business along with tending to a flock of seven granddaughters and one grandson, and three great-grandchildren.  June was placed in Golden Living Center of Hayward, WI in May of 2014 where she was considered the sweetest woman on Earth, as stated by her husband, Del, family, staff at Golden Living, and all who had privilege of knowing and loving her. Her family leaves the message “June, you will always be loved by us & it is indeed a privilege to have had so many good years with you. Rest in peace, you deserve it.”

She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Delbert; two sons, Charles (Diane), Mark (Kristi); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther (Thomas) Rondeau; and several nieces and nephews.
