Judith “Judy” Anne Powers Age 87, of Rice Lake, WI, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in Rice Lake.

She was born on November 27, 1935 in Manitowoc, WI to Norman and Mildred (Dushek) Griebling.

Judy graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School and then moved to Evanston, Illinois where she worked for The Cradle. She was married to Richard “Dick” Powers on September 15, 1956 in Manitowoc. She worked for Herbergers, grocery stores, was a daycare provider but most of all she loved being a homemaker. She loved to read, crochet, and made baby blankets for all the grandkids.

She is survived by 4 children, Lori (Mike) Mattmiller, David (Linda) Powers, Tom (Jen) Powers and Jill Powers (Libo Garcia); 8 grandchildren, Brian (Terri), Eric (Natalee) and Brett Mattmiller, Brandson (Stephanie) and Michael (Lauren) Powers, Trae Tyler, Caleb and Charlotte Randall; 8 great grandchildren, Alexis, Laura, Ava, Lindsey, Hallee, John, Emily and Hudson; a brother, John Griebling; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Powers; a grandson, Brett Tyler; her parents, Norman and Mildred Griebling; and 2 brothers, Norman and James Griebling.

A celebration of her life will be held at Noon on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI. Visitation will be held from 10AM-12PM on April 21, 2023.
