Joyce Harriet Nelsen Age 86, of Rice Lake, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health System - Barron, WI. She was born on December 14, 1932 in the township of Barron, WI to Amund and Viola (Bolstad) Anderson.

Joyce graduated from the Barron High School and then worked for General Motors in Minneapolis and in California. She was married to Paul Nelsen on February 15, 1964 in Barron, WI. Joyce worked for Dr. Smith in Barron and helped out on their dairy farm in the Township of Stanfold, WI. Joyce enjoyed her flower gardens, baking, antiques, Christmas decorations, Scandinavian items and rosemaling.

She is survived by a daughter, Tamara Nelsen of Chippewa Falls, WI; a son, John Nelsen of Rice Lake, WI; 4 grandchildren, Kelsey, Nikki, Ashley and Caden; 3 great grandchildren, Kennedy, Trey and Bensyn; 2 nieces, Sharon and Julie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Nelsen; and 2 sisters, Ardis and Louise. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday, March 1, 2019 at Stanfold Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. John Bergson officiating, with interment in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4-6PM Thursday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Friday.
