Joyce Arlyn Ficocello, 89, of Cumberland, WI passed away on October 25, 2023 at Cumberland Care and Rehab.

Joyce was born in Cumberland to Lloyd and Stella (Rasmussen) Brown on December 17, 1934.

She grew up "in the country," as a tomboy and loved riding her horse. Joyce married Ted Ficocello on September 4, 1954 and they moved to NE Mpls., where they raised their two children, Doug and Lori. During the early years of their marriage, Joyce spent many hours on the road between Cumberland and Mpls., (with kids in tow) in order to watch Ted play his beloved game of baseball on the Cumberland City Team. Through the years, Joyce was employed at Honeywell and FMC as a competent administrative assistant.

Joyce was very talented and accomplished at everything she set her mind to... whether it was crocheting, rosemaling, knitting, painting, or sewing. Her daughter, Lori, was voted "best dressed" in her Fridley high school class of 720 students and Joyce had sewn all of her clothes. Joyce also loved to read and watch the Vikings, the Twins, and her great grandchildren playing in her yard at the lake.

Joyce is survived by her children, Doug (Carrie) Ficocello of Coon Rapids, MN, Lori Ficocello (Jim Seabrook) of Cumberland, grandchildren, Chelsea (Harlan) Worsham, Mitch (Alyssa) Ficocello, and great grandchildren, Teagan, Everly, Cruz, Hudson, Olive, and sister, Janice Jordan of White Bear Lake, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, on May 23, 2023, and her brother, Gerald Brown.

The family is deeply grateful to the entire staff at the Cumberland Care and Rehab for caring for Joyce with so much love, dignity, and joy during her year-long stay. The family has chosen to honor Joyce's wishes for a small family gathering in lieu of a funeral.
