In Memory of Joseph J. Jasek
Joseph John Jasek passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Aspen Acres Care Center in Hayward, WI. He was born on September 14, 1933 in Lublin, Wisconsin, the son of the late Joseph and Kathrine (Resnick) (Welgos) Jasek. Joe was united in marriage to Maryann Ruda of Thorp, WI on April 18, 1958.
Joe worked for the Railroad. While working for the Railroad he was called to duty. Joe served our country in the US Army from September 8, 1955 until August 22, 1957. After returning, he went back to the railroad and was eventually sent to Exeland, WI as the Depot Agent. Joe had a dream of being a fishing guide. He succeeded at that dream. He moved his family to Couderay, WI, by the Chippewa Flowage and Joe became a legendary fishing guide!
Joe is survived by his wife, Maryann; three sons, Bruce Jasek, James (Patricia) Jasek and Gary (Susie) Jasek; six grandchildren, Jessica (Jim) Spinner, Travis Jasek, Katie (Michael) Johnson, Kyle Jasek, Cody Jasek and Jacob Jasek; three great-grandchildren, Sage, Brooke and Brynn Spinner.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Kathrine; two sisters, Anne (Tony) Ziemba and Bernice (Tony) Prucillo; two brothers, Walter (Ann) Welgos and Andrew Welgos; and a granddaughter, Samantha Jo Jasek.
A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the Hayward Funeral Home. A prayer service and military honors will follow at 1:00 P.M. A luncheon will be provided by Lynn’s Custom Meat and Catering. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Fishing Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 690, Hayward, WI 54843.
