John Robert Wolter, age 76, of Osceola, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022.

John was born to Ernest and Avis Wolter on November 7, 1945. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1963.

After high school, John attended University of Wisconsin – River Falls for two years then left to work for Champion Aircraft in Osceola. He went on to work for M&L Motor Supply, drove school bus for the Osceola School District when his daughter was in elementary school, maintained the family beef farm, enjoyed farming, and sold seed originally for Payco Seed Company (and the various successor seed companies over the years). Eventually, he worked for Andersen Windows in Bayport, Minnesota and retired in 2009 after 22 years of service.

Throughout John’s life, he enjoyed working on tractors, farming, and hosting threshing parties in the late summer, participating in local community tractor pulls, and eventually running the Osceola Community Fair’s Antique Tractor Pull for many years. His pride for the family heritage and land continued until his passing. Around 1996, the Wolter Farm was registered as a century farm.

John is survived by his daughter, Rachel (Joe); grandchildren, Colin, Gabryelle, and Garret; sister, Cheryl; nephews, Bryan (Katie) and Matt (Kristie).

John is preceded in death by father, Ernest Frank Wolter; mother, Avis McKenzie Wolter; aunts, Flora Belle and Ida; uncle, Ken; and brother-in-law, Del.

Funeral services for John will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Peace Lutheran Church in Dresser, Wisconsin with visitation beginning one hour prior to service. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM unitl 7:00 PM on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Peace Lutheran Church with a Masonic Service following visitation.
