In Memory of John Meeds, Jr.
John Clayton Meeds, Jr. "Legend" age 65 of Spooner passed peacefully out of this life at home in the company of his adoring family on October 24, 2020. He was born on February 1, 1955, in Stillwater, MN, to John Sr. and Jeanne (Cedarbloom) Meeds. He was married in Siren, WI on August 17, 1996, to Donna Wilson.
Whether known as John, Boz, or Papa John, he left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Gruff and tough on the outside, John was kind and generous with both his time and energy. He worked his tail off, traveling this country thousands of times over as a truck driver, and in his spare time traveled the 3/8 mile track in the number 55 car for decades. John spent countless hours with his sons turning wrenches in the garage and on team trucking adventures.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Spooner; sons Kevin (Jessi) Meeds of Hillsdale, and Scott Meeds of Shell Lake; grandchildren: Rowan, Seraphim, Ozlan, Verity, and Jadalynn; stepson, Joshua Kramer of Rochester, MN; step-granddaughter, ZeldaMae Powers; siblings: Jill Meeds (John Berg) of Wyandotte, OK, Susan (Steve) Johnston of Wyandotte, OK, Scott (Phyllis) Meeds of Siren, and Jody Molamphy (Dave Helgerson) of St. Croix Falls; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his racing and trucking family and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to Noon on Friday at the home of John and Donna Meeds. A prayer service and time to share memories will be held at 12:00 Noon followed by a procession to the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.
