June 29, 1956 - April 24, 2017

John Joseph Hecky, age 60, of Trego, WI passed away at his home on Monday, April 24, 2017.

John was born on June 29, 1956 in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Michael and Marian (Diederich) Hecky.  He grew up and went to school in White Bear Lake, MN, and then went to work as a truck driver for the family business until he moved to Wilson, Wisconsin and started farming.  In 2003 John sold his farm and moved to the Chippewa Flowage for three years and then moved to Trego WI where he had built a cabin.  John was an avid snowmobiler, loved to bow hunt, and enjoyed driving his four-wheeler.  He also loved to get together with his grandchildren and family.  John was known for telling jokes, making people laugh, always talking, watching UFC, and making friends easily.

John is survived by Lori Milune the love of his life and soulmate;  his children Michael Hecky of Emerald, WI, Jenny Nusberger of Balsam Lake, WI, Jody (Damien) Oberle of Menomonie, WI, and Jessica Nusberger of Humbird, WI; his grandchildren Alixandrea, Justin, Megan, Blair, Adam, Brianne, Riley, Kaitlyn, Aiden, Braylee, Kayden, and Haily; his mother Marian Hecky of Mahtomedi, MN; his siblings Karen (Russ) Hostetler , Mary (Tom) Morse, and Kay (Jerry) Mosimann all of Minnesota.

John was preceded in death by his father and his niece Carrie Richter.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Spooner Funeral Home, 306 Rusk Street, Spooner, WI.
