In Memory of John "Jack" E. Steinberger


June 3, 1937 - May 29, 2025

Jack Steinberger was born in Forest township to Fritz and Sis Steinberger on June 3, 1937 and passed away May 29, 2025. Jack attended grade school at Hilson and White Birch, graduating from Clear Lake High School in 1955. Jack and Judy had grown up knowing each other and eventually became a couple. The two were married October 17, 1959, and have 9 children, born from 1960 through 1972. Jack had a love of music, playing tuba in many local polka bands in the area up to 1991, and listened to WRJQ polka station while working on his computer. Jack had a lasting career in construction and found it difficult to quit, retiring 3 different times. Jack enjoyed being a mechanic, gun builder, designer and builder of both race cars and snowmobiles. Jack had a great fondness of sharing his wisdom and facilities with his family and having them use his sheds, lifts, and tools while discussing their careers and lives.

Preceded in Death: Parents: Fritz and Sis Steinberger; In laws: Walter and Doris Glenny; Son in law Kevin Vance (husband of Rita); sister Pat Hall; sister-in-law Wilma Steinberger (wife of Jerry); brother-in-law Bob Briesemeister (husband of Jeanne); granddaughter Alexis Steinberger (wife of Matt); niece Karne Fischer (daughter of Sue Westby)

Survived by wife Judy, brothers and sisters: Sue (Bill) Westby; Jerry Steinberger; sister-in-law Jeanne Briesemeister; sister-in-law Gloria (Dale) Logan; brother-in-law Bill Hall.

We lost the legend, the legacy lives on.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday June 6, 2025, from 2 -5 PM at the Speakeasy Event Center in Clear Lake, WI with a Brief Memorial Service at 3pm.

Interment will be at the New Haven Township Cemetery at a later date.
