John Ewald Nielsen Age 75, finished his journey on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 after an extended illness.

He was born on March 5, 1948 to Dane and Dagny Nielsen.

After graduating from Washington Park High School, John began his masonry career and with former wife, Patty they raised their family. John met his love, Beth later in life and they were married on August 22, 2020. John enjoyed fishing, cooking and loved his many pets - 2 dogs, 2 cats and 5 chickens. He adored his grandchildren and was proud of their many accomplishments.

He is survived by his wife, Beth Nielsen; a son, John (Tracy) Nielsen and their daughter, Julia; a daughter, Trish (Steve) Mintz and their family, Molly, Sophie, Heidi and Jack; 2 stepsons, Rocco (Jennifer) Utter and his family, Christian & Grace and Scott Utter and his family, Michael and Magen; 3 siblings, Judy Kestly, Paulene Harder and Bill Nielsen; many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by parents, Dane and Dagny Nielsen. Graveside services will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine, WI at a later date.

Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting the family with the arrangements.
