In Memory of Joel Tietz

October 10, 1956 - January 1, 2021

Joel Ray Tietz, 64, of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away on January 1, 2021 at his home under hospice care with his loving family at his side.

Joel was born on October 10, 1956 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin the son of Russell and Margaret (Mitchell) Tietz.

Joel had 44 beautiful years of marriage to the love of his life Connie. Together they raised 4 wonderful children on a dairy farm outside of Chetek.

He had a true love for the outdoors. In earlier years he enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with the boys and hunting in the Blue Hills.  More recently he would enjoy time year-round on his John Deere tractor.

Joel liked his movies and TV, and when football was on you'd hear him cheering for the Green Bay Packers.  He was a great cook and he passed his love and knowledge of cooking onto his family.  If you saw him around, chances are he'd be wearing a Carhartt shirt and a big smile for you.

Joel had many health obstacles through the years, but remained positive and was determined to live life to the fullest.  His family and friends all had a special place in his heart. He was widely known, well respected, held near and dear, and will be missed beyond measure.

Joel leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, Connie Tietz, Chetek, WI; mother-in-law, Joyce Wintrone, Chetek, WI; children: Ryan (Mandy) Tietz, New Auburn, WI; Justin (Amie) Tietz, Rice Lake, WI; Jeremy (Heidi) Tietz, Chetek, WI and Nikki (Jessiah) Haas, Sand Creek, WI; his grandchildren: Logan, Peyton, Paige, Jazmine, Haili, Haidn, Harpr, Broc, Madison and Dawson, his great grandchild, Lincoln, siblings: Chris Leatherberry, Brenda (James) Sanwick, Bruce Tietz and Mark Tietz, numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Margaret Tietz and his father-in-law, Willie Wintrone.

Joel’s family will greet visitors at the Chetek Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.  All guests will be required to wear masks or facial coverings and please practice the social distancing guidelines as recommended by the CDC.
