Jo Lynn Kotel Age 61, of Rice Lake, WI died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Marshfield Medical Center in Rice Lake.

She was born on February 5, 1957 to Donald and Lucy (Bratkowski) Broesch in Portage, WI. Jo graduated from the Portage High School in Portage. On May 25, 1979 she married Steven M. Kotel at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elmhurst, IL. She worked as a housewife and babysitter in the Chicago land area. In 1992 they moved to Birchwood, WI and started her own business doing cabin and motel cleaning and in 2011 they moved to Rice Lake.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, baking and gardening but she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Kotel of Rice Lake; 3 sons, Steven Kotel (Jessica) of Rice Lake, Brian Kotel of Spooner, WI and Kevin Kotel (Jennifer) of Rice Lake; 6 grandchildren, Alek, Ivy, Gracie, Eva, Izaak and Brennan; 3 sister, Jackie Walczak of Exeland, WI, Donna Sneath of Monks Corner, NC and Cindy Broesch of Rice Lake; a brother, Jerry Broesch of Dalton, WI; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lucy Broesch.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 4-7PM at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake.
