In Memory of Jerry Pankow
Jerome “Jerry” C. Pankow, age 80, of Danbury, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, peacefully at his home.
Jerry was born on August 5, 1939, in Minneapolis, MN, to parents, Verna (Schraan) and Otto Pankow. He graduated from Northfield High School in 1957. On July 31, 1957, Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy and on July 22, 1960, he was honorably discharged.
On June 10, 1961, Jerry was united in marriage to Jane Babcock. From this union two children were born, Jackie and Deon.
Jerry worked for Control Data in the Twin Cities area for 30 years. In 2009, Jerry and Jane made their cabin on Yellow River their permanent home.
Jerry enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and going on family camping trips. He also enjoyed dancing, roller skating and cooking.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and brother, Arden.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jane; daughter, Jackie Collins; son, Deon (Kelly) Pankow; grandsons, James Collins, Mason Collins and Sean Collins; sisters, Mary (Joe) Bollmann and Linda (Chuck) Kinn; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Per Jerry’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Webster
