In Memory of Jerry Nutter
Jerry Lee Nutter, 76, of Laketown Township, Cushing, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at the Osceola Medical Center in Osceola, Wisconsin with his loving family at his side.
Jerry was born on September 25, 1944, in Frederic, Wisconsin the son of Albert and Darline (Johnson) Nutter.
Jerry was the youngest of the family consisting of yours, mine, and ours. When he was in grade school, he had his own trap line which began his love of the outdoors. This helped him pay for his school supplies and to put food on the family table.
He loved to hunt and fish. Throughout the years he supplied his family and friends with his bounty. He especially loved to go to HAPS Landing in Danbury, Wisconsin. His family called it his “Happy Place”.
Jerry enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam as a Scout with the Blackhawks 7th Squadron 1st Air Calvary. He was shot down 13 times and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart among many other awards and medals. He attained the rank of Captain II before his honorable discharge.
Throughout the years he worked for Whirlpool, UPS, JR Copters, Brainerd Helicopters, and Hazelden. He worked with the DNR fighting fires and was sent to Montana, Texas, and the Hibbing Tanker Base in Minnesota. He always had fond memories of the crews he worked with.
Jerry and Bonnie were married on July 11, 1981, and would have celebrated their 40-year wedding anniversary. His greatest love was his family and grandchildren Taylor and Carter.
Jerry leaves to celebrate his memory: his wife, Bonnie L. Nutter, Cushing, WI; daughter, Missy (Jim) Talmadge, Cushing, WI; sons, Jim (Lori) Coble, Wilkeson, WA and Jeff Coble, Renton, WA, two grandchildren, Taylor and Carter Talmadge, Cushing, WI; siblings: Karen Clover, Centuria, WI; Barbara Peterson, St. Croix Falls, WI; and Ken (June) Brown, Panama City, Florida, many other loving family and friends. Jerry was a Father Figure to his nephews, Mike (Kim) Nutter, Milltown, WI and Sam (Kathy) Owen, Milltown, WI, and his niece, Coni Splittstoser, Forest Lake, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Darline Nutter, siblings: Bill Nutter, Claude Brown, Lorraine Glunz, and Opal Krueger.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 17th, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Laketown Township, Polk County, Wisconsin which is located at the corner of 210th Street and 240th Avenue. Full military honors will be rendered by the Cushing American Legion, Post 269, and the Wisconsin State Military Honors Team.
A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will take place at Jerry and Bonnie’s home on Saturday, July 17th, 2021, beginning at 3:00 P.M.
