Jeffrey (Jeff) Halvorsen, age 67, of Eden Prairie, MN, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024, at Our Lady of Peace in St. Paul, MN, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.

Jeff was born on April 18, 1957, in Minneapolis, MN, and adopted by his loving parents, Phillip and Gladys (Nelson) Halvorsen.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of over 32 years, Janice, their son Zachary, siblings Jerry (Michiyo) Halvorsen of Sapporo, Japan and Joy (Mike) Buer of Wauwatosa, WI, aunts and uncle Marge Halvorsen and Woody & Muriel Nelson, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jeff grew up in Milltown, WI and graduated from Unity High School. He then graduated from Golden Valley Lutheran College, and later earned a degree in Marketing Management from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. After an early career in photography, he enjoyed great success working in sales for various companies in the audio visual, graphic arts, and industrial automation markets.

Throughout his life he had a variety of interests, including photography, outdoor activities, watching college football and taste-testing craft beers. In his younger days, he volunteered with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Water Patrol. More recently he was active with the Hennepin County Sheriff Foundation, the Sons of The American Legion, and the 22 BullsEye League. Most of all Jeff cherished the time he spent with his family and friends by telling stories, laughing and creating memories that they will hold dear forever.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister Julie, several cousins, and many aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 23rd, at 11 am at Joy Lutheran Church (501 WI-35, Centuria, WI 54824) in Centuria, WI, with visitation starting at 10 am.
