Jean Florence (Pedersen) Paulsen was born in Oak Park, IL on January 7th, 1929. The fifth of 5 children born to Nels and Florence (Bloom) Pedersen. She spent her growing up years between Chicago, IL and Long Lake near Sarona WI. She married the love of her life Richard E. (Dick) Paulsen on June 28th, 1947. They had 5 children, Richard (Rick), William (Bill) Nancy, Bonnie, and James (Jim).

Jean was always artistic and enjoyed drawing, painting, quilting, knitting and crocheting. She was also an avid cook who enjoyed hosting dinner parties and even catering some events. Family events were occasions to celebrate and dust off her hostessing skills. In her later years she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles (the harder, the better) having fun with her ‘Gambling Girls’, and her glass of wine at 4:00 with "two ice cubes, please”. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed their company and shared their youthful spirit. Jean sadly left the party July 21st 2024 after succumbing to an illness. But now she celebrates anew with her Father in Heaven and all her loved ones there.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dick, brothers Robert (Bob), Oscar (Bud), Jack, infant sister Myrtis, and grandson Chris Cotteleer.

She is survived by her children Rick (Jean) Paulsen, Bill, Nancy Paulsen, Bonnie (Jeff) Sullivan, and Jim. Grand children, Justin (Masako) Paulsen, Ashley (Joshua Dailey) Paulsen, Brian (Carly) Paulsen, Jamie (Ry Reule) Byrnes, Danielle Quinn, Tom Cotteleer, Leanne (Jeff) Ziegeweid, Elliot (Meghan) Paulsen. Great grandchildren Kosuke, Kojiro, and Kotoko Paulsen, Alexia Paulsen, Jade Barrett, Chloe Byrnes, Gage, and Aiden Quinn, Dayzhia, and Darius (Quinn), Ivy (Cotteleer), Daphne, and Shelby Ziegeweid, Jack Paulsen and baby boy Paulsen due in December 2024.

Funeral Services will be held at Luck Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 26, 2024, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
