Jean Ann Bakke Age 81, of Rice Lake, WI, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Dove Healthcare Rice Lake.

She was born on July 8, 1943 to Michael and Duane (Nybloom) Collins in Henderson, Minnesota. She was married to Gene Bakke on October 30, 1965 in Henderson, MN. They lived in Champlin, MN for many years and she worked as supervisor in a cabinet shop in Plymouth, MN for over 30 years. They moved to Rice Lake, WI in 2003. A doctor once said, she is one feisty and determined woman. She had a laugh that was infectious, and she enjoyed family time with her grandchildren because they were so special to her. She loved spending time at Red Door Resort on Mille Lacs Lake; going to church, talking with friends and loved ones on the phone; watching Judge Judy and the Minnesota Vikings, and making beef commercials for Sunday dinners.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Mike Van Gilder; 2 grandchildren, Cody Van Gilder and Ellie Van Gilder; a brother, Joseph (Darlene) Collins; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Bakke in 2016; her parents, Michael and Duane Collins; many brothers, sisters and in-laws.

Funeral Services will be held at 1PM Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, Father Isaiah Schick officiating, with interment in Meadow Creek Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals.
