Janice K. Sens, age 82, formerly of Minong, WI, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Water's Edge Care Center in Hayward, WI.

Jan was born March 28, 1942, in Sioux Center, IA, the daughter of Peter and Hermina (Wybenga) Van Muyden. She was raised in Sioux Center and graduated from Sioux Center Public High School in 1960. She lived in Iowa and Minnesota, working at various desk jobs. On September 23, 1989, Jan was joined in marriage with Richard "Dick" Sens. They lived in Rosemount, MN, where they owned Rosemount Marine & Arctic Cat. After selling the business Jan and Dick moved to WI, where they both worked for Link's. Together they moved to IA for five years to care for Jan's parents, then returned to WI for the summer months, spending winters in FL and AZ. Jan loved to talk, read, fish, go to movies, cheer on the Packers, and meet with her church prayer group.

Jan is survived by her two children, Bret Popma and Nicole Mendoza; stepchildren, Brenda (Eric) May, Theresa Slater, Sharon Kruskopf; nineteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two siblings, Carmen (Sandy) Van Muyden, Denise (Ron) Stapf; and a number of nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick; daughter-in-law, Amy Popma; son-in-law, Sam Mendoza; and stepson, Todd Sens.

A memorial service celebrating Jan's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the River Church in Minong, WI, with Pastors Mike Knox and Ben Kidder officiating. A time of gathering will be held for one hour prior to the service on Monday the 11th at the church.
