Janet Marthy Zimmerman Age 82, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 in Rice Lake, WI.

She was born to Marcus and Marthy Zimmerman on January 1, 1942. Janet graduated from Spooner High School in 1960. She resided in Sarona, WI most of her life and then moved to Rice Lake. Janet worked many years at Ted Hagg’s Steak House in Sarona, the sexton for the Sarona Cemetery and cut lawn for many years keeping the cemetery clean and also worked for Birchwood Manufacturing till she retired. Janet loved her flowers, wildlife, baked and decorated many cakes in her lifetime, going to garage sales, hunting, picking apples and blueberries, gardening and canning her produce. She was a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Spooner and St. Catherine of Alexandria of Sarona, WI.

She is survived by her brother, Ken Zimmerman; 2 sisters, Dorie Magnus and Linda Myers (Randy); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Marthy Zimmerman; brothers, Ronald, Theodore and Randy; brother-in-law, Bill Magnus; sister-in-law, LuAnn Zimmerman; and nephew, Matthew Zimmerman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Saturday, August 10, 2024 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Spooner, WI, Father Phil Juza officiating, with interment in the Sarona Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the funeral arrangements.
