July 15, 1932 - January 2, 2025

James Otto Krueger, 92, of Cumberland died on January 2, 2025, at Cumberland Healthcare. He was born July 15, 1932, in Waterloo, IA to Otto and Mary (Dana) Krueger. Jim served in the U.S Air Force from 1950-1954. He was married in Denver, IA on September 25, 1955, to Carol Steege.

He worked for 25 years at 3M and had many side jobs during his retirement to help keep him out of trouble. Jim certainly left his mark on the community with the many carpentry projects he helped with. He also served on the Cumberland Fire Dept. for 27 years.

Jim and Carol could often be seen walking together around town with a pit stop at the Dairy Queen. Jim enjoyed daily golfing, fishing on the Mississippi, ice fishing on North Lake, and deer hunting with his sons and grandsons. He was actively involved in his grandchildren’s school and sports activities. Jim was not afraid to offer his wise advice on their athletic proficiency. His great grandchildren helped to reveal Jim’s genuine and tender love.
