In Memory of James Knorn

March 5, 1954 - November 10, 2020

James (Jim) Knorn, 66, of Roberts, WI left this world on November 10, 2020. Jim was born March 05, 1954 in the town of Chippewa Falls, WI. He was the son of Paul and Malinda (Boos) Knorn.

He will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul who worked hard, loved his family, and would always offer a helping hand. Jim was generous with his free time and gave back by teaching hunters safety courses, donating blood, and being active in his church community.

Prior to his retirement, Jim had worked for over forty years with Soo Line/Canadian Pacific Railroad. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying fishing trips to Alaska and Canada. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake, which was his home away from home.

Jim is survived by his wife of 19 years, Patricia (Haar) Knorn of Roberts WI, children Sarah Knorn of Woodbury MN, Keri Knorn of Las Vegas NV, Brad (Becky Luedke) Thoennes of Rice MN, Jodi (Corey) Janssen of Cold Spring MN, and Chris Thoennes of Alexandria MN; grandchildren Hailey, Dominick and Hazel of Cold Spring MN; two brothers Walter Knorn of Chippewa Falls WI, Edward Knorn of Yorba Linda CA, three sisters Janet Schaumberg of Chippewa Falls WI, Ann (Galen) Teerink and Rosetta Knorn both of Redding CA and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law Karen Knorn.

Due to COVID concerns, there will be a private funeral service for immediate family on Monday, November 30th, 2020 at 11:00am at the Church of Notre Dame in Chippewa Falls, WI. There will be a visitation from 9:30am – 10:30am at the church. The funeral services will be livestreamed, and all who wish to join can do so by visiting the church’s website www.thechurchofnotredame.org to find the link. Face coverings will be required for all who enter the church for the service or visitation.

There will also be a Celebration of Life, where all are welcome to join and celebrate the impact Jim made on each of our lives to come in the Spring. More details to come.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity in Jim’s honor would be appreciated. Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
