In Memory of James Gorski
James D. Gorski, age 66, of Hayward, WI passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at his home.
James was born January 5, 1953 in Hayward, WI the son of Raymond and Lillian (Gallus) Gorski. He was raised in Hayward and graduated from Hayward High School in 1971. Jim began work as a truck driver and worked for a few businesses before taking a job with Ulland Brothers, Inc. as a heavy equipment operator. Jim enjoyed his work and was excellent with numerous types of heavy equipment. He used his talents with a front end loader to be the first person to cover main street with snow for the American Birkebeiner. Another local project Jim was involved with was grading the land for construction of the high school baseball fields. Jim’s work caused him to travel much of the year but he spent many of his winters in Hayward. Upon his retirement, Jim moved back to Hayward where he enjoyed fishing, hunting and being in, and photographing, nature.
Jim is survived by his mother, Lillian Gorski of Hayward, WI; sister, Marsha (Douglas) Bruner of Spooner, WI; and one niece, Roxanne (Randy) Melton of Shell Lake, WI.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond.
A private family gathering will be held for Jim in the spring.
